One day in February 2009, my second month at
Nyack College, I had arrived early to school and chose to go to the
library before class. I got off the elevator with a friend and
there were 2 people in the hallway that she knew. We began
conversing and our conversations led to the Bible and about how God was
moving in each of our lives.
As we were talking near the elevator, people
in the library overheard us and walked out to the hallway to join the
conversation. Other people waiting for the elevator would stand
and listen and contribute to the conversation as well, even letting the
elevator they were waiting for pass because they didn't want to leave
the conversation.
This conversation in the hallway, drawing
together people who have a love for God, was so moving, that right at
that moment, I felt that this should be something that takes place on a
weekly basis, if not more often.
It's been said that the Bible is our food
and as I was standing there, God had given me the name "Snacktime."
Since it was just a short period of time that we can share the word, it
was not so much a meal, but a snack.
I want the phrase "Snacktime" to catch on -
not where people think of a bag of potato chips and a Snickers bar, but
they think of the WORD OF GOD. I pray that we can all have "Snacktime,"
a time of fellowship with one another - the free snack you can have any
time of day!
This website allows you to view time,
locations and weekly scripture updates and notes, as well as the
opportunity and platform to begin a 'Snacktime' in your own area.
My contact info on this website allows you to keep me updated in order
to promote your Snack'time' and locations on the site. This will
allow others in your area to 'have a snack' with fellow brothers and
sisters in Christ and share the Word.
